Collection: Gym Heroes

Gym Heroes is the sixth expansion set of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released in English on August 14, 2000. This set is notable for being the first to introduce "Owner's Pokémon," featuring Pokémon specifically belonging to the iconic Kanto Gym Leaders.

The set focuses on the first four Kanto Gym Leaders: Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, and Erika, with their signature Pokémon appearing as "Brock's Onix," "Misty's Seadra," "Lt. Surge's Electabuzz," and "Erika's Vileplume," among others. This gave a unique flavor to the cards, often with abilities or attacks reflecting the Trainer's style.

Gym Heroes consists of 132 cards and also introduced a new type of Trainer card called "Stadium cards," which remain in play and affect both players until another Stadium card replaces them. It was a significant set for the TCG, adding new strategic elements and bringing beloved characters from the Pokémon anime and games directly into the card game.
